China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) recently released the 51st Statistical Report on the Development of Internet in China. The report shows that by December 2022, the number of Internet users in China has reached 1.067 billion, an increase of 35.49 million over December 2021, and the Internet penetration rate has reached 75.6%. In terms of basic network resources, as of December 2022, China's total number of domain names reached 34.4 million; In the information and communication industry, the total number of 5G base stations in China reached 2.31 million, accounting for 21.3% of the total number of mobile base stations, up 7 percentage points from December 2021; In terms of the development of the Internet of Things, the total number of terminal connections in China's mobile network has reached 3.528 billion, and the number of mobile Internet of Things connections has reached 1.845 billion. The foundation of the Internet of Things has been constantly consolidated. The report shows that the scale of Internet application users in China will basically remain stable in 2022. Among them, the online office market has developed rapidly, attracting more Internet users. By December 2022, the number of online office users in China has reached 540 million, an increase of 70.78 million over December 2021, accounting for 50.6% of the total number of Internet users. At the same time, the standardization level of Internet medical services continues to improve, becoming the application with the fastest growth in user scale in 2022. The relevant regulatory policy framework in the field of Internet medicine has been increasingly improved to guide the standardized development of the Internet medical industry. As of December last year, the number of Internet medical users in China reached 363 million, an increase of 64.66 million over December 2021, accounting for 34% of the total number of Internet users. In addition, the Internet has become an important means to achieve rural revitalization and promote the development of rural digital services. The supply of digital services such as online education and internet medical services has continued to increase, promoting the quality and efficiency of digital services in rural areas. As of December last year, online education and Internet medical users in rural areas accounted for 31.8% and 21.5% of the total rural Internet users respectively, up 2.7 and 4.1 percentage points from the previous year.
