The 2023 World Engineering Day celebrations were held in Madrid, Spain, from the 2nd to the 4th. Under the promotion of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will designate March 4 of each year as "World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development" ("World Engineering Day") to enhance public awareness of the important role of engineering and engineers in sustainable development. On the international forum "Engineering creates the future of the city" held on the 2nd and 3rd, several experts in the field of Chinese engineering science and technology issued wonderful reports: Ling Wen, an academician of the CAE Member, shared China's plans to address population challenges; He Jing, an observer of the Engineering and Environment Committee of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, spoke about the outstanding contribution of Asian women in promoting the innovation and development of construction engineering technology. The World Federation of Engineering Organizations was established in 1968 under the initiative and support of UNESCO, with its headquarters in Paris. After more than 50 years of development, the membership of the organization covers more than 100 countries and regions in the world.
