He said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the first mobile phone, which marks the beginning of "a series of events" that have profoundly changed the way people live, work and interact. China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, OPPO, Xiaomi and other Chinese communication and technology enterprises attended the conference. John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA, predicted that 25% of the participants would come from Asia, including 4000 to 5000 from China. The World Mobile Communication Conference is one of the grand events of the mobile communication industry, also known as the industry "vane". However, in the past few years, this grand event was deeply affected by the COVID-19, and the 2020 conference was forced to be canceled. In 2021, it was postponed and most of the exhibitions and discussions were held online. Although the offline event was resumed in 2022, its scale was still not as large as before the epidemic. The 2019 World Mobile Conference attracted more than 109000 people. In addition, the organizers also look forward to using the exhibition to promote industrial recovery and mitigate the impact of the epidemic on the economy. Greider stressed that the conference not only focused on the development of technology, explored the future vision of industry leaders, but also paid attention to the economic value created by the conference.
