The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting called for strengthening international policy cooperation
2023-02-27
The two-day meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Twenty (G20) ended in Bangalore, southern India, on the 25th. The meeting called for strengthening international policy cooperation and promoting strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth of the global economy. The meeting pointed out that since the last meeting, the global economic outlook has improved slightly, but the growth is still slow, and the economic downside risks still exist. Risks such as rising inflation, resurgence of the epidemic and tightening of financing conditions may exacerbate the debt vulnerability of emerging markets and developing economies. The meeting said that the G20 stressed the need to elaborate monetary, fiscal and structural policies to promote growth and maintain global macroeconomic and financial stability. In addition, the G20 will continue to strengthen macroeconomic policy cooperation and support the promotion of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The meeting was co-chaired by the Indian Finance Minister Sitaraman and the Reserve Bank of India Bank Shaktikanta Das. This is the first ministerial meeting held by India after assuming the rotating presidency of the G20. (Xinhua News Agency)
