In the past two years, e-commerce platforms and chain discount stores mainly selling temporary food have gradually emerged. According to the Report, conservatively estimated by 1% of the inventory in the snack industry every year, the scale of China's temporary food industry was about 22.2 billion yuan in 2016 and about 30 billion yuan in 2020. From 2016 to 2020, the compound annual growth rate of the market size of the temporary food industry was 7.8%, from which it was estimated that the market size of the temporary food industry in 2026 would be about 47.1 billion yuan. The physical retail enterprises represented by chain supermarkets and convenience stores, while seizing the market opportunities and exploring the path of transformation and innovation, actively assume social responsibilities, reduce food waste and develop low-carbon.
