The beginning of the new semester is coming, and education restoration should be put on the agenda
2023-02-07
With the end of the Spring Festival holiday, primary and secondary schools in many parts of the country have opened one after another. It is reported that primary and secondary schools in Qingdao, Shandong and Jiangxi will officially open on February 6, and primary and secondary schools in Beijing will also open on February 13. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the education and teaching process has faced unprecedented uncertainty, and has to meet unprecedented challenges. Educators and parents across the country have made great efforts to overcome some problems brought by online teaching, and have worked together to improve teaching methods and improve teaching efficiency, and achieved hard-won results. However, we should also be soberly aware that although we try to reduce the impact of the epidemic disturbance on education, some areas of education are still lost and weakened, which has a certain impact on the hearts and growth of minors. In this regard, we should give full attention and conduct scientific evaluation. Specifically, the impact of the disturbance of the epidemic on the spirit of students is that the prevention and control measures such as home isolation lead to the limitation of their activity space, or the retardation of their physical development of various functions and skills, and the decline of their physical fitness. Second, under social isolation, lifestyle is adjusted to different degrees, or affects the development of minors' social awareness and ability, and affects their social cognitive level and social ability. Third, the overall learning effect of online classes is lower than that of on-site classroom teaching. Relevant research indicates that about two thirds of students can't learn self-discipline and autonomy, have no motivation to learn, have incomplete learning process, have failed to acquire learning methods, or directly affect their subsequent studies and further studies. Fourth, with the decrease of peer and social interaction, some students' interest in the real world has weakened, and some are addicted to games and various social media. In addition, some students' psychological resilience declined and accumulated various psychological problems, such as anxiety and depression. With the continuous optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention and control policies, 2023 is a key year of reconstruction for school education. The restoration of the impacted educational concepts, the order of educational work and the social organizational structure and system related to education should be put on the agenda as soon as possible. Adhering to the people-oriented principle, taking high quality and modernization as the basic goal, improving the efficiency of education, doing a good job in the post-epidemic education repair, eliminating the impact and boosting confidence will be the top priority of the education work in the new semester and even in the future. Reconstruction of education after the epidemic is a systematic process. A report released by the United Nations Children's Fund in December 2022 shows that 1.6 billion of the world's approximately 2 billion school-age children have missed a lot of classroom time during the COVID-19 epidemic, and this learning loss may be permanent. With regard to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the system in the field of education, first of all, the author believes that it is necessary to carry out the corresponding investigation, assessment and identification of the physical conditions of teachers and students at the beginning of the new school year, refer to the medical and related research, appropriately reduce the difficulty of physical exercise and physical testing, adjust the teaching arrangement, and minimize and avoid secondary injuries. Recently, according to media reports, in order to guarantee the life and health of students to the greatest extent, many places have announced the cancellation of the 1000-meter race for boys and 800-meter race for girls. Secondly, it may be necessary to systematically analyze various factors to determine what framework and model education uses to reconstruct the future and how to promote it
