"Three Spanish heroes" have an appointment with you! Guangzhou Shamian Art Center ushered in its first exhibition, displaying more than 30 works of Picasso, Dali and Miro, the "Spanish Three Masters". The year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain and the 50th anniversary of the death of artist Pablo Picasso. This "Spanish Three Masters" art exhibition is organized and planned by the Shamian Art Center and the L.C. Art Museum. Through the authentic works, academic introduction and interactive punch card, it tells the story of three Spanish artists who are internationally renowned in the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Juan Miro, and their works. At the exhibition site, this exhibition brought many representative ceramic works of Picasso, including his well-known works of women's theme, "Women with Loose Hair" and "Half-figure of Women". The two works were exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum in 1985 and 2010 respectively. Among them, the woman with fluffy hair is a classic example of Picasso's abstract art. The audience can see both the front and two sides of the woman's face in the works. Her fluffy black hair almost extended to the edge of the brick, while her big nose and eyes showed surprise. The curator introduced that, similar to the production process of linoleum prints, this porcelain plate work was created by "subtraction", and the image presented in the work was exactly the reverse image left after the surface of the porcelain plate was removed. The linoleum print of "The woman with fluffy hair", "The bust of a woman", was created in 1964. Its picture is rich in detail. Picasso juxtaposed the delicate vertical line and the powerful horizontal line, and portrayed a beautiful and mysterious woman with different lines. The person in the picture turns his head slightly to the right to avoid facing the audience. She smiled and seemed to be looking out of the window, staring at things outside the picture. The linoleum prints of "The Half-figure of a Woman", two famous works of Picasso's owl series, are also presented in this exhibition. One of the works was created in 1968. Picasso decorated its wings, tail, eyes and nose with earthy red, while white and green were used in the chest with softer feathers. The work combines the traditional vase, handle pot style and the abstract image of owl. The owl's face is placed on the neck of the pot, the body is coincident with the bottle body, and the tail is set on the protruding part of the original bottle body, so that the audience can easily feel its amazing three-dimensional sense. The other owl work made of ceramic is made of clay. Its shape is round and full, and its wings are vivid in simplicity. After a few strokes, the artist vividly displayed its naive appearance on the pottery. The curator introduced that the brushwork seemed simple, but in fact it showed Picasso's vigorous brushwork. A careful taste showed the master's detached and free bearing, as well as his lifelong pursuit of innocence and purity. The classic image "Space Elephant" of Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali of Owl ceramics is also displayed in this exhibition. "Space image" is the theme repeatedly expressed in Dali's works, and is also one of the most famous symbols in Dali's works. This image first appeared in 1944
