The safety supervisor of a distribution service company in Xuancheng, Anhui Province, deliberately concealed the fact that the company had paid the insurance money in advance when dealing with the traffic accidents and insurance claims of riders, lied to the riders about the need to pay the insurance money in advance, deceived the riders to transfer money to them, or lent the "good treatment fee" to the acquaintances of the insurance company to obtain double insurance compensation, claimed the "benefit fee" from the riders, and defrauded huge amounts of money. Recently, the People's Court of Xuanzhou District, Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, publicly sentenced the defendant Pan Mou to commit the crime of fraud, sentenced Pan Mou to six years' imprisonment, and fined 80000 yuan to compensate the economic losses of the victims. After trial, the court found that the defendant Pan was a safety supervisor of a distribution service company in Xuancheng. By taking advantage of his work convenience, when dealing with the traffic accidents of the riders, he fabricated the lies that the riders could get additional insurance compensation by paying the maintenance fees of the accident vehicles in advance, paying the hospital inspection fees in advance, hiring lawyers to help apply for industrial injury insurance, paying lawyers' fees, and giving benefits to relevant personnel to get double insurance compensation, which deceived the riders into transferring money to WeChat and Alipay. At most, 75000 yuan was defrauded and at least 2500 yuan was defrauded. From July 2020 to December 2021, Pan defrauded 14 platform riders of more than 287000 yuan. The money obtained from fraud was used by Pan for personal consumption such as buying lottery tickets. After the trial, the court held that the defendant Pan Mou defrauded others of more than 280000 yuan by fabricating facts and concealing the truth for the purpose of illegal possession. The amount was huge, and his behavior constituted the crime of fraud. Pan has repeatedly committed fraud and should be severely punished.
