The Guangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Guangdong Province, recently announced that it had found cultural relics of the pre-Qin period in the village in the middle of Nansha Street, Nansha District, Guangzhou. The archaeological excavation covers an area of 2000 square meters, and 408 relics have been found and cleared, including 1 cultural accumulation, 103 ash pits, 300 column holes, 3 tombs, 1 ditch, and 172 important cultural relics. The site includes the cultural accumulation of the Shang Dynasty, the Western Zhou Dynasty, the Tang and Song Dynasties, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties, among which the remains of the Shang Dynasty are the most abundant. This discovery provides important archaeological material data for studying the chronological sequence of the archaeological culture of the Xia and Shang Dynasties in the Pearl River estuary area, revealing the basic features of the production and life of the ancestors, as well as historical information such as ecological environment, distribution of animals and plants, and species composition.
