China Today Art Week opened in Adelaide, Australia

The "China Today" Art Week opened in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, on the 28th. This art week was hosted by the Chinese Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles, the Chinese Embassy in Australia, the Chinese Consulate General in Adelaide and the Adelaide Festival Center. The activities of the Art Week include two parts: the "Road of Inheritance" exhibition of the art works of the inheritors of China's ceramic intangible heritage and the "black soil style" exhibition of excellent art works of Heilongjiang Province, China. The exhibition selected 50 pieces (sets) of ceramic art works of Jingdezhen's representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, and 39 pieces of traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, watercolors and other works created by outstanding artists in Heilongjiang Province. In her speech at the opening ceremony, the Governor of South Australia, Sun Fang'an, said that as a former diplomat and the current Governor of South Australia, she had witnessed the important role of art in diplomacy and strengthening human relations. She has worked in China for more than ten years and has developed a strong interest in Chinese art. Gao Deli, CEO of Adelaide Festival Center, said that cultural exchanges and cooperation between Australia and China would help the two peoples understand each other. Through the exhibition, Australian people can see the excellent works of Chinese artists. Song Yanqun, the cultural official of the Chinese Embassy in Australia, said that culture plays a role of bridge and communication. The "China Today" Art Week was launched during the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia and the Chinese Lunar New Year, which is of special significance. It is believed that many Australians will enter the exhibition hall to appreciate Chinese traditional and modern art.
