The largest single bridge project in Johor, Malaysia - the Pulai River Bridge in Johor, constructed by China Communications Construction Corporation (CCCC), was successfully opened to traffic on the 19th. The Minister of State of Johor State of Malaysia, Onhafiz, attended the opening ceremony on the main bridge and waved the opening signal flag in person. The Pulai River Bridge in Johor is located at the southern end of the Malaysian Peninsula, adjacent to Singapore. The main line of the project is 7.5km long and is a two-way four-lane highway project, mainly including a 2.1km river-crossing bridge, two small land bridges, and about 4km of subgrade works. According to relevant personnel of CCCC, since the commencement of construction in 2017, the CCCC project construction team has overcome a series of construction problems, such as deep water, shallow soil cover, complex construction process, large size of steel hanging box for pile cap in high pile and deep water areas, and difficult bottom sealing. Especially since the outbreak of the COVID-19, CCCC overseas constructors have faced the challenge of the epidemic, strictly implemented the requirements of the Malaysian government, always adhered to the normalized management of epidemic prevention and control, efficiently organized production while ensuring the life and health of all Chinese and foreign employees, and finally achieved the goal of opening the vehicle as scheduled. The Pulai River Bridge in Johor was successfully opened to traffic on the 19th. Before opening to traffic, CCCC has accepted the acceptance of the handover and acceptance committee composed of the Johor State Transportation Bureau, the Electric Power Bureau, the Audit Bureau, the Owner and other units. Through site survey, data inspection and discussion, the handover and acceptance committee unanimously determined that the project meets the requirements of design and relevant specifications, strict process control, reliable project quality, and meets the handover and acceptance conditions.
