2023-01-10
On the morning of January 9, the launching ceremony of the China-Latin America International Writing Action and the China-Latin America Young Artist Growth Partnership Program, which was sponsored by the Cultural Communication Center of the China Foreign Language and Culture Bureau, the China International Cultural Exchange Center and the China Poetry Society, was held at the China International Cultural Exchange Center. Carlos Larea, Ambassador of Ecuador to China, Ian Kornell Kinlock, Ambassador of Nicaragua to China, Martin Orlando, Charg é d'affaires of the Uruguayan Embassy in China, Rodrigo Toledo, Cultural Counselor of the Chilean Embassy, Wang Yongwu, Secretary-General of the China Center for International Cultural Exchange, Zhang Jinting, Director of the Cultural Communication Center of the Chinese Foreign Language and Culture Bureau, and Wang Shan, Secretary-General of the Chinese Poetry Society attended the launch ceremony and delivered a speech. Fifteen co-sponsors from 11 countries in Latin America sent messages in the form of video, expressing their hopes and blessings for the China-Latin America International Writing Program. Carlos Larea, a Chinese and foreign guest, said that cultural exchange is an important starting point for deepening the friendship between China and Ecuador and can guide the bilateral relations to continue to develop in the right direction. Ecuador has also actively expanded Ecuador's cultural participation in China through book donations and forums. Ian Cornell Kinlock said that human love for poetry is the same, which is the most true emotion. Literature can break the boundaries of time and space, and excellent works can move the people of China and Latin America, connect the hearts of the people, and jointly promote cultural exchanges between China and Nigeria. Martin Orlando said that on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uruguay, Uruguay hopes that the China-Latin America International Writing Plan can form a channel mechanism to change the current situation of Uruguayan people's "little knowledge" of Chinese literature. Rodrigo Toledo said that Chile was the first South American country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. Before the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Chile, civil friendly exchanges had laid the foundation of diplomatic relations between China and Chile. Wang Yongwu pointed out that the China-Latin America New Partnership has always been a model of South-South cooperation. The China-Latin America International Writing Plan will rely on the basis of China-Latin America folk cultural exchanges and use digital technology to deepen links. Zhang Jinting said that literature has always played an important role in China-Latin America exchanges. The China-Latin America International Writing Program can build an interactive platform for the creators of China-Latin America literature, so that more readers can learn about the excellent literary works and writers of both sides in time, and jointly enrich the spiritual home of mankind. Wang Shan stressed that from history to today, the communication between China and Latin America has never been interrupted by the geographical distance. In the future, the communication of poetry between China and Latin America will continue to deepen on a new platform. The "China-Latin America International Writing Action" project was jointly sponsored by 15 institutions, including the Chilean Neruda Foundation, the Chilean Writers Association, the Colombian Medellin International Poetry Festival Organizing Committee, the Mexico City International Poetry Festival Organizing Committee, and the Venezuela International Poetry Festival Organizing Committee. The content includes cultural activities such as the China-Latin America International Poetry Double League, the translation and publication of literary works, and the exchange of visits and exchanges among writers. The project will be fully launched in 2023 to promote cooperation and exchange between Latin America and China in the fields of literature, film and television, art and other fields, and establish a large-capacity and diversified three-dimensional platform for cultural exchanges between China and Latin America.
