AI Predicts Protein Structure Breakthrough Intelligent Robot Shows Its Skills in Multiple Fields

2023-01-05

The digital economy of the United States is mainly driven by artificial intelligence (AI), supercomputers, intelligent robots and other fields: supercomputers are at the forefront of the world, artificial intelligence has predicted more than 600 million protein structures, and a millimeter scale paper folding robot for amphibious use has been developed. In the field of computer science, the International Supercomputing Organization announced that the supercomputer "frontier" located in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory of the United States won the first place in the international supercomputing Top 500 list in 2022, becoming the fastest supercomputer in the world today, with computing power up to 110 billion times per second. In terms of AI, Meta researchers used artificial intelligence ESMFold to predict the structure of more than 600 million proteins from bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms that have not yet been characterized. Nanoengineers at the University of California, San Diego School of Engineering have developed an AI algorithm that can predict the structure and dynamic properties of any material almost instantly. MIT engineers have created a stackable and reconfigurable AI chip with a design similar to Lego's. In the field of intelligent robots, Stanford University scientists have developed a millimeter scale paper folding robot for amphibious use. Northwestern University engineers have developed the smallest crab like remote controlled walking robot ever. Researchers at North Carolina State University have developed the fastest swimming "butterfly robot". MIT engineers have developed a remote robotic system that can help surgeons perform rapid remote treatment of stroke or aneurysm patients. STAR, an intelligent autonomous robot designed by the research team of Johns Hopkins University, performed laparoscopic surgery on the soft tissues of pigs without human guidance, which is an important step towards the robot finally implementing fully automatic surgery on the human body.
