Belarus: The Russian deployed missile system with nuclear warheads is ready

2022-12-26

According to Reuters, a senior Belarusian defense ministry official said on the 25th that Russia's "Iskandar" tactical missile system and S-400 air defense system deployed in the country were ready to carry out the scheduled mission. Leonid Kasinsky, Director of the General Department of Ideological Work of the Ministry of National Defense of Belarus, released a video on the social platform Telegram, saying that Belarusian troops and crew members had completed training in the joint combat training center of the Russian and Belarusian armed forces, and that "Iskandar" and S-400 were well prepared to carry out combat tasks. Kasinski also said that Belarusian military aircraft have been modified and can carry "special aviation ammunition". It is reported that the Iskandar-M missile system can carry conventional warheads or nuclear warheads, with a maximum range of 500 kilometers. S-400 air defense system is Russia's mobile surface to air missile interception system, which can intercept aircraft, UAVs and cruise missiles, and has terminal ballistic missile defense capability. In June this year, Russian President Putin announced that Russia would provide Belarus with missile systems and air defense systems. However, it is unclear how many "Iskandar" systems capable of carrying nuclear weapons have been deployed in Belarus. (Liu Xinshe)
