China Unicom Research Institute Releases the First High Localization Rate Millimeter Wave Indoor Distributed Microbase Station in China
2022-12-26
Recently, on the network forum of China Unicom Partner Conference, China Unicom Research Institute released the first domestic high localization rate millimeter wave indoor distributed micro base station. China Unicom actively leads the millimeter wave ecological industrial chain, and continues to promote the independent and controllable capability of millimeter wave base station equipment. The release of China Unicom's first high localization rate millimeter wave micro base station represents China Unicom's successful completion of the first step of the "three-step" plan for independent and controllable millimeter wave, leading to the promotion of the research and development of domestic millimeter wave chip devices. Li Hongwu, president of China Unicom Research Institute, released the high localization rate millimeter wave indoor distributed micro base station V1.0. Under the guidance of China Unicom's White Paper V2.0 on Millimeter Wave Technology released in 2020, this high localization rate indoor distributed micro base station was jointly developed by China Unicom, Zijinshan Laboratory and AVIC International, including BBU, Hub and pRRU. It has a baseband controller and radio frequency chip that can be controlled independently High and low frequency integrated networking and independent networking, flexible frame structure and green energy saving scheme. It can meet the deployment requirements of high-density and broadband hotspot scenarios, and enable XR/4K/8K and other broadband applications. The R&D of the whole machine has driven the localization of baseband, IF and RF basic devices. The 3.0 version of the white paper clarifies for the first time the requirements for multiple technical indicators of millimeter wave, and points out the direction for the development of millimeter wave equipment. Li Hongwu said that we hope to deploy when conditions are met, work with the industry to build a good high-frequency communication industry ecology, and help the construction of high-speed ubiquitous wireless boutique networks. Li Hongwu released China Unicom's White Paper V3.0 on Millimeter Wave Technology. Since 2018, China Unicom has continued to tackle key problems of millimeter wave core technology in technology research to create network differentiation advantages; In terms of standard leadership, actively lead the progress of millimeter wave standardization through a number of bank/enterprise standards; In terms of technical test, through continuous evolutionary test verification, we will continue to promote manufacturers' equipment to achieve leapfrog development from prototype to commercial form in China; In terms of ecological construction, China Unicom hosted several high-frequency communication forums, led the industry to establish a "high-frequency communication joint innovation laboratory", and successfully built a mature millimeter wave industry, application, industry university research and standardization four-dimensional ecology. With the help of the vigorous development of 5G network, the development of 6G network has begun. China Unicom will continue to forge its independent innovation capability, work with its partners to jointly promote core technology research and development, build a high-frequency innovation engine, accelerate the transformation of innovation achievements of high-frequency technologies such as millimeter wave, help the digital process of thousands of industries, and jointly realize the network power and digital China.
