Brain science is regarded as the "ultimate domain" to understand the relationship between the universe, nature and human beings. Human beings have never stopped exploring the human brain and imitating its operating mechanism. The human brain provides inspiration and demonstration for the development of artificial intelligence technology with its strong plasticity, versatility, adaptability, self-organization, low energy consumption and high efficiency. Brain like intelligence, a new academic discipline, has been born, and is considered to be one of the most potential subversive fields in the post Moore era. Recently, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology completed the editing and publishing of the book "Facing the Future of Human Beings - Interpretation of the Ten Scientific Problems of Human Social Development in 2021". In this issue, we invite two of the authors to introduce the research on brain like intelligence. The picture "Facing the Future of Human Beings - Interpretation of the Ten Scientific Problems of Human Social Development in 2021" is provided by the China Association for Science and Technology. 1. It is of great significance to pay attention to brain like intelligence research worldwide. Drawing on the information processing methods of the human brain will help to break the constraints of the von Neumann system structure, and is expected to lead artificial intelligence from machine intelligence to machine enhanced intelligence, and from specialized intelligence to general intelligence. Therefore, all major developed countries and regions in the world are actively promoting the development of brain like intelligence. The density of global major projects in this field has increased year by year, such as the "Human Brain Program" of the European Union, the "Brain Research Program for Promoting Innovation in Neurotechnology" of the United States, and the "Brain Science and Brain like Research Major Project" of China's scientific and technological innovation 2030, and there is a large investment from international business machine companies such as Google, Microsoft and other high-tech companies. Brain like intelligence, also known as neuromorphological computing, aims to simulate the morphological structure and information processing mechanism of human brain. On the one hand, highlight the biological basis and hardware orientation, develop brain like chips with neural morphology hardware simulation as the core, simulate neural circuit structures and pulse neural networks, and form new physical models using neural pulse computing principles; On the other hand, it highlights the realization of perception mode, cognitive mechanism, learning ability, memory storage and other functions. Based on the research of brain intelligence mechanism, it realizes the operation mode of functional brain and performance super brain by virtue of the powerful integration, search, calculation and other capabilities of machines. Natural selection does not necessarily mean the development of intelligence, which implies the compromise of survival and the assistance of biological dependency. Therefore, as a product of natural evolution, human brain still has many drawbacks and limitations. Not all its operating mechanisms are scientific and worthy of imitation, and so is its information processing mode. For example, memory capacity is limited, learning process is slow, and individual differences in computing ability are obvious. It is necessary to sort out in which aspects computer brain should learn from human brain, and in which aspects it should play a synergistic role with human brain. In terms of information processing, human brain has several significant advantages: first, it can process unstructured information well, can process data in parallel with multimodal perception, dynamically filter and capture key content, and conduct cross media fusion and independent decision-making; Second, the small sample learning and generalization ability is strong. Under the condition of relatively insufficient knowledge and resources, the subject has strong adaptive ability and strong fault tolerance; Third, the integration of storage and computing
