Guangzhou has 2 representative works of human intangible cultural heritage, 21 national level projects and 95 provincial level projects. The protection of intangible cultural heritage at the grass-roots level has been improved, and the problems of intangible cultural heritage institutions, personnel, funds and other issues have been better solved. A coordination mechanism for the protection of intangible cultural heritage has been established. Most districts have set up intangible cultural heritage protection centers and arranged full-time staff. The system of institutional guarantee has been gradually improved. The Measures of Guangzhou for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Implementation Plan of Guangzhou on Further Strengthening the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage have been issued successively to gradually standardize and institutionalize the protection of intangible cultural heritage. The list system of intangible cultural heritage has been further enriched, and Guangzhou has carried out eight batches of municipal level identification of representative intangible cultural heritage projects.
