China's agricultural scientific and technological papers and patents are eye-catching scientific and technological papers and patents are visual indicators reflecting scientific and technological innovation ability. The 2022 Analysis on the Global Competitiveness of China's Agricultural Science and Technology Papers and Patents was written by the scientific and technological information analysis and evaluation innovation team of the Institute of Agricultural Information of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Based on the papers and patent data, the overall agricultural science and technology status of 22 agricultural advanced countries and their institutions, including the United States, Japan, France and China, was analyzed in depth. The main conclusions are as follows:, China has made great progress in basic research of agricultural science and technology. The competitiveness index of China's agricultural science and technology papers ranks first in the world, and the competitiveness index of China's agricultural patents ranks second in the world. The report shows that the total number of papers published, the number of highly cited papers and the number of papers published in Q1 journals rank first. Among the top 10 institutions in the competitiveness of scientific and technological papers in 22 countries, China accounted for half of the institutions on the list, and the contractors ranked the top two. China ranks first in the competitiveness index of scientific and technological paper institutions in 9 disciplines. Among the top 100 institutions in the competitiveness of scientific papers in 22 countries, the number of institutions in the top 5 countries accounted for 73%, while the number of institutions in China accounted for 34%. In terms of patents, China ranked first in the world with 628300 applications for agricultural invention patents, accounting for "half of the total number of agricultural invention patents" in 22 countries. China's agricultural invention patents were cited 746800 times, accounting for 64% of 22 countries, and the number of Chinese invention patents granted was 115700, accounting for 47% of 22 countries. Among the top 10 patent competitive institutions in 22 countries, China is listed as two. Among the top 100 patent competitive institutions in 22 countries, the number of institutions in the top 5 countries accounted for 80%, the number of Chinese institutions accounted for 14%, and the number of selected institutions ranked second. In terms of specific disciplines, China has advantages in scientific and technological papers and patent competitiveness in plant protection, agricultural product quality and processing, and aquatic fisheries, accounting for 25%; China ranks first in terms of the competitiveness of crops, agricultural resources and environment, agricultural machinery and engineering, and agricultural information. In terms of agricultural research institutions, among the seven disciplines, Chinese institutions account for more than 50% of the top 10 institutions; China has the largest number of institutions in agricultural information and horticulture discipline entering the top 10. China has more than 50% of the top 10 institutions in four technical fields.
