Among the leading countries in biomedicine, the share of articles in China, the UK, the Netherlands and Israel has been growing since 2019. According to the share of articles, the top five institutions in the biomedical field in 2021 are Harvard University, the National Institutes of Health, Stanford University, the Max Planck Society of Germany and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In terms of scientific research cooperation, Harvard University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences have shown some influence both at home and around the world. From 2015 to 2021, the two most leading domestic biomedical partnerships were Harvard University and MIT, Chinese Academy of Sciences and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The partnerships between Harvard University and the University of Zurich, as well as between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the German Max Planck Society, are the two most advanced international biomedical cooperation groups.
