Yin Xiyue took office as President of the Republic of Korea in May this year, and the Ministry of National Defense and the Marine Police Office jointly held a press conference in June. He said that he had not found any conclusive evidence that Li Dajun had taken the initiative to vote in the DPRK. In July, the National Conditions Institute reported to the prosecution that the internal investigation determined that Park Zhiyuan had deleted the relevant information documents of the "West Sea Incident" without authorization in order to "cooperate" with the investigation conclusion of the Moon Jae-in government. When Park Zhiyuan arrived at the Central District Procuratorate in Seoul on the 14th, he told media reporters that he "never received any instructions from former President Moon Jae-in or former head of the National Security Room Xu Xun to delete data", and reiterated that he never instructed staff to delete data when he was president of the National Academy of Sciences. At the time of the "West Sea Incident", Xu Xun was the head of the National Security Room of Chongwatai, equivalent to the assistant of the President of South Korea on national security affairs. The prosecution believes that Lu Yingmin, the then Secretary General of the Blue House, was one of the officials who reported the situation to Moon Jae-in in person the day after Li Dajun was shot, that is, September 23, 2020. The prosecution also suspects that Xu Xu, then the head of the Ministry of National Defense, ordered the deletion of military secrets such as listening information related to the Li Dajun case according to Xu Xun's instructions. Xu Xu was arrested in October and released on bail 17 days later.
