The book shadow picture of the "Department of Chinese Painting in Past Dynasties" is provided by Zhejiang University. Chinese painting in past dynasties is a treasure of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Since its launch in 2005, the "Painting Series of China's Past Dynasties" has been completed for 17 years. As a national major cultural project with a vast scale, which runs through history and spans both China and foreign countries, it is the most comprehensive collection of excellent works in similar publications and the largest publication scale of Chinese painting image literature. The "Department" has collected 12405 pieces (sets) of Chinese paintings made of paper, silk (including silk, damask), hemp and other materials from 263 cultural and museum institutions at home and abroad, covering most of the "national treasure" painting treasures handed down from generation to generation. He compiled and published Complete Works of Pre Qin, Han and Tang Paintings, Complete Works of Song Paintings, Complete Works of Yuan Paintings, Complete Works of Ming Paintings and Complete Works of Qing Paintings, totaling 60 volumes and 226 volumes. This grand masterpiece, which connects the ancient and modern times and the world, not only fully demonstrates the resplendence of Chinese civilization, but also witnesses the strong vitality and global influence of Chinese culture in the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations by reflecting the rich achievements of Chinese painting art, and highlights the important practical significance and broad prospects of the protection, inheritance and utilization of Chinese excellent traditional culture.
