Reminder of China Consumer Association: Rational view of medical and aesthetic needs
2022-12-09
In recent years, medical beauty is gradually becoming a popular choice for some consumers. However, practitioners in the medical and aesthetic industry are mixed, hiding many consumption risks and traps. The China Consumer Association recently warned that consumers should treat their medical and aesthetic needs rationally, choose medical and aesthetic institutions correctly and make medical and aesthetic decisions prudently. What is medical beauty? According to the relevant provisions of the Administrative Measures for Medical Beauty Service issued by the National Health and Health Commission, the so-called medical beauty refers to the repair and remodeling of human appearance and the morphology of various parts of the human body by using surgery, drugs, medical devices and other traumatic or invasive medical technologies. According to insiders, medical beauty can be generally divided into skin beauty, plastic surgery and body beauty, which are obviously different from life beauty and general medical behavior. Everyone has a love of beauty. In recent years, domestic medical beauty consumption demand has grown rapidly. Yang Rongya, a professor of dermatology at the Seventh Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and vice president of China Plastic and Cosmetic Association, said that with the improvement of consumption level, the continuous progress of domestic medical and aesthetic technology and the gradual improvement of market supervision, the growth potential of China's medical and aesthetic market continues to release, and the industry has considerable prospects for development. With the rapid development of the medical beauty market, the related consumption disputes are also increasing. According to the statistics of China Consumer Association, from 2015 to 2020, the number of medical and aesthetic complaints received by the National Consumer Association increased from 483 to 7233 each year. According to the analysis of relevant complaint data, the main problems of current medical beauty include: some medical beauty institutions do not have complete licenses, do not obtain medical beauty business license or operate beyond the scope; The staff of the institution do not have the qualification to practice and the operation is not standardized; The channel of medical products is unknown, and some medical and aesthetic institutions use fake goods, counterfeit injections and counterfeit equipment; It is difficult to evaluate the effect of medical beauty, and there is still a large gap between the service quality and consumer expectations. In the opinion of Chen Yinjiang, Deputy Secretary General of the Consumer Protection Law Research Association of China Law Society, there are two outstanding problems in medical and aesthetic consumption. First, fuzzy pricing and illegal charges. The publicity of medical and aesthetic practitioners' qualification information, medical and aesthetic service items and service prices is what consumers want to know most before receiving medical and aesthetic services. However, some medical and aesthetic institutions do not publicize or only provide vague prices according to regulations, such as publicizing the price range without publicizing the price determination, which seriously infringes consumers' right to know. Second, the safety of medical beauty is worrying, and the risk warning is insufficient. In medical and aesthetic institutions, various comparison charts before and after medical and aesthetic treatment are often hung to exaggerate the effect of surgery without mentioning the risk of surgery, leading consumers to only pursue the effect of surgery and ignore the risk of medical surgery. At present, the regulatory governance system of China's medical beauty market is gradually improving. How can we better regulate the market order and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers? Chen Yinjiang suggested that medical and aesthetic operators should put consumers' rights and interests first, operate in good faith and abide by the law, and carry out relevant business activities in strict accordance with relevant laws and regulations. For example, the platform should improve the rules and measures and strengthen the audit management, especially investigate all kinds of false and exaggerated medical and aesthetic propaganda; Medical and aesthetic institutions shall publicize their business qualifications and service information to provide consumers with safe and reliable medical and aesthetic services; Carry out compliance marketing without exaggeration or other misleading
