Today, CNOOC announced that the Shenmu Anping Coalbed Methane Pipeline Project (Shen'an Pipeline for short), China's longest long-distance coalbed methane pipeline, has been completed and is in trial production. Shen'an pipeline will open the export channel of natural gas in Shanxi Shaanxi region and provide new assistance for the supply guarantee of natural gas in Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. The pipeline is planned and constructed by China United Coalbed Methane Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CNOOC, and is a key construction project of the 13th Five Year Plan for the Development and Utilization of Coalbed Methane (Coal Mine Methane). The pipeline starts from Shenmu City, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province in the west and ends at Anping County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province in the east, spanning 7 cities and 17 counties in Shaanxi, Shanxi and Hebei provinces, with a total length of about 623 kilometers. The gas transmission capacity of Shen'an Pipeline is 5 billion cubic meters per year, which can meet the annual demand of more than 20 million households based on the average monthly demand of 20 cubic meters of natural gas for a family of three. Dai Zhaohui, General Manager of Zoomlion, said: "Since the sectional ventilation, Shen'an Pipeline has supplied more than 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Shanxi and Hebei. This winter and next spring, it can supply about 500 million cubic meters of natural gas to North China, effectively ensuring the demand of people's livelihood in winter in North China. After the whole line is completed, it will fully release the production capacity of Shanxi and Shaanxi, and contribute to ensuring people's livelihood and national energy security."
