In an interview with Xinhua News Agency a few days ago, Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) Foreign Relations Secretary Simbarache Monbenguey said that China's global development initiatives are particularly beneficial to developing countries and help countries unite to meet global challenges. Mon Benguegui said that the current global development faces multiple challenges. "We must look at these challenges from a global perspective in order to face them together". He believed that the Global Development Initiative was a timely initiative that would help promote global solidarity and address increasing global challenges. He said that the global development initiative is consistent with Zimbabwe's own development agenda. "I have no doubt that we developing countries will be the beneficiaries of this initiative." He spoke highly of China's support to African countries and talked about the new Zimbabwean parliament building built with China's assistance, the Mugabe International Airport Reconstruction and Expansion Project and the Wangai Coal fired Power Station Expansion Project undertaken by Chinese enterprises. "No other country can make such a contribution to the development of the African continent within the framework of bilateral cooperation and the Forum on China Africa Cooperation. We very much welcome this initiative." He said. "China has shared its experience with all developing countries, which has greatly benefited us. Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwean People's League and Africa are very grateful for this gesture of solidarity, sharing and focusing on the common interests of all mankind," he said (Liu Xinshe)
