China Council for the Promotion of International Trade: The trend of stable and high-quality development of China's foreign trade has not changed
2022-11-30
On November 29, CCPIT held a regular press conference in November. Sun Xiao, spokesman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and secretary-general of the China International Chamber of Commerce, said that in the first 10 months of this year, China's foreign trade was generally stable, with total imports and exports, total exports and total imports all reaching new highs in the same period of history. Sun Xiao said that at present, the COVID-19 has repeatedly delayed, the geopolitical situation is tense, and the vulnerability of the world economy is more prominent. Against this backdrop, China's foreign trade enterprises are facing multiple challenges such as weak foreign demand, rising costs, and increased risks. The problem of insufficient orders is particularly prominent. In the fourth quarter, foreign trade imports and exports are under further pressure. Although the complexity and uncertainty of the domestic and international environment exceeded expectations, the development trend of stable and high-quality foreign trade in China has not changed. When it comes to the measures that CCPIT will take to help foreign trade enterprises do a good job in the year-end sprint and lay a good foundation for next year, Sun Xiao introduced them from three aspects. First, help enterprises seize orders and expand the market. We will do a good job of going abroad to participate in exhibitions at the end of this year and the beginning of next year, and guide exhibition organizers to do a good job in the work of pilot overseas groups. Pay close attention to the new trend of the world economic situation and the new demands of foreign trade enterprises, give play to the advantages of digital platforms, improve the service level of "cloud trade promotion", and help enterprises accurately connect with overseas customers. Second, optimize trade and investment promotion services. We will strengthen the special work of serving foreign enterprises, accelerate the construction of big data platforms, and improve the accuracy of serving enterprises. Continue to carry out publicity, promotion and training of RCEP and other free trade agreements, and guide enterprises to make full use of various free trade agreement policies. We will continue to improve the ease of certification of certificates of origin and ATA documents, improve the quality of commercial certification services, and support the development of new forms and models of foreign trade. Third, help enterprises prevent risks and challenges. We will strengthen legal services such as international economic and trade arbitration, commercial mediation, and intellectual property protection. Guide enterprises to deal with the impact of US related sanctions, Ukraine crisis, etc., provide services such as international economic and trade arbitration, friction response, intellectual property rights and compliance training, and safeguard the rights and interests of enterprises. Strengthen enterprise compliance training, and expand the coverage of enterprise international operation risk screening. In order to help enterprises seize orders, expand markets, and promote the stability and quality of foreign trade, CCPIT has coordinated epidemic prevention and control and the approval and management of overseas trade and economic exhibitions, and actively promoted the pilot approval of overseas exhibition projects in key countries, key industries, and key exhibitions. Sun Xiao introduced that in early November, CCPIT issued the Notice on Doing a Good Job in the First Batch of Pilot Examination and Approval Projects for Overseas Economic and Trade Exhibitions. At present, the pilot approval of the first batch of 15 overseas economic and trade exhibitions from November 2022 to February 2023 has been completed, including 13 exhibition projects and 2 self held exhibition projects, which are distributed in 8 countries, including Germany, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and involve textile, auto parts, sports goods, electronics, consumer goods and other fields. The minimum exhibition size is about 100 square meters, and the maximum exhibition size is 10000 square meters. "Next, CCPIT will start the solicitation, selection and approval of follow-up projects in due time according to the implementation of the first batch of pilot projects and the suggestions of enterprises," said Sun Xiao.
