Chinese scientists made important discoveries in the research of cage superconductors

Cage superconductor is a new type of superconductor with many strange physical properties. Due to its special geometric structure and non local electron correlation, it is considered as a new quantum material with important value. Recently, Professor Wu Tao of the Academician Chen Xianhui's team of the University of Science and Technology of China and others observed a new type of charge ordered state induced by pressure in the cage order superconductor cesium vanadium antimony using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy under high pressure. Recently, the international authoritative journal Nature published the research results. It is one of the key issues in the field of international superconducting research to explore the complex derivative phenomena and their physical mechanisms between superconducting states and competitive electronic states. In the previous study, the research team of the University of Science and Technology of China found that under pressure, there was an abnormal competition between the superconductive state and the charge density wave state in the cage superconductor, indicating that there might be an undiscovered competitive electronic order. In this work, Wu Tao and others carried out a nuclear magnetic resonance study on the Cs, V and Sb cage superconductors under pressure. The results showed that there was a strong competition between the new charge ordered state and the superconducting state, which was a new competitive electronic order. In addition, the research team also observed the charge fluctuation phenomenon caused by the electron correlation effect in cage superconductors and the possible unconventional superconductivity under pressure. The above experiments revealed novel electron correlation effects and abundant derivative phenomena in cage superconductors, which provided a new opportunity to understand the complex interaction mechanism between superconducting states and competitive electronic states, and also provided a new direction for exploring novel superconducting states in cage superconductors. In addition, Wu Tao pointed out that, from the perspective of electron electron correlation interaction, although cage superconductors have weak correlation interaction, they have observed competitive electron sequences similar to high-temperature superconductors, which indicates that there may be a new electron electron correlation effect in cage superconductors, but the specific physical mechanism remains to be further explored.
