"Taking History as a Mirror and Creating a Future - Historical Facts Exhibition for the 180th Anniversary of the Signing of the Nanjing Treaty" has been exhibited in many secondary schools in Hong Kong for two consecutive months since November. After visiting the exhibition, the teachers and students said that they would have a deeper understanding and reflection on the modern history of the country and be more proud of the rapid development of the motherland. The exhibition of being extremely proud of the motherland was guided and supported by Jiangsu Overseas Friendship Association, sponsored by Jiangsu Association of Hong Kong, Jiangsu Hong Kong Culture Promotion Association, and co sponsored by Nanjing Overseas Friendship Association, Nanjing Drum Tower Overseas Friendship Association, and Nanjing Jinghai Temple Memorial Hall. On the afternoon of November 4, the first exhibition was held in Huang Chubiao Middle School of the Hong Kong Federation of Educators. After its launch, it has successively toured in Tin Shui Wai Xiang Dao Middle School, Han Hua Middle School and Kwai Chung Su Zhe Public School. Lin Fengting, a young teacher of Jiangsu Zhejiang Public School, said after the opening ceremony held a few days ago that, as a teacher of Chinese history, she has been promoting the students' sense of identity with the country and the nation through the history education in the classroom. This time, when reviewing this epic history with the students, she thought of the leap of New China from standing up to becoming rich and strong in the fields of economy, society, culture, science and technology, and felt extremely proud of the motherland. At present, some Hong Kong secondary schools have offered the course of "Chinese History", including the "Opium War". Classroom learning combined with such exhibitions as extracurricular activities will enable teachers and students to have a deeper understanding and thinking of history. The exhibition will continue to be held in North Point Suzhou Zhejiang Public School, Lutheran Ximen Yingcai Middle School, Shatian Suzhou Zhejiang Public School, Fujian Middle School, Shunde Friendship Association Wengyou Middle School, Qiu Jinqiu Middle School (Tuen Mun) and Chongzheng Middle School. It is expected to end on December 20. (Liu Xinshe)
