On November 21, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 16th Academic Conference and the 30th Academician Conference of the Academy of Sciences of Developing Countries. Xi Jinping pointed out that China attaches great importance to the development of basic science, and is willing to work with all countries in the world, including developing countries, to further enhance the openness, trust and cooperation of the international scientific and technological community, so as to benefit the people of all countries with the prosperity and development of science, and make contributions to advancing the global development initiative, implementing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. The 16th Academic Conference of CAS for Developing Countries and the 30th Academician Conference were opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province on the same day. The theme was "Basic science promotes evidence-based decision-making and sustainable development in developing countries". It was hosted by CAS for developing countries, organized by Zhejiang University, and co organized by the Chinese Association for Science and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. (Liu Xinshe)
