During the one month activity, more than 110 young people from both sides of the Taiwan Straits who are studying and living in Xiamen will read classics together and taste the fragrance of books. It is reported that this reading season includes four major activities, including "Scholar's Elegance" famous scholar lecture, "Calligraphy Art" online reading, "Calligraphy cross-strait" book exhibition visit, and "Calligraphy Charm South Fujian" essay selection. At the launching ceremony, Liu An, vice chairman of Xiamen Writers Association and editor in chief of Xiamen Literature, and Huang Wanbin, associate professor of the School of Film, Television and Communication of Xiamen Institute of Technology, presented the latest cultural books Zigui City and All Enjoying South Fujian Cultural Life Daily View to readers on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. Cai Rubizheng, a sophomore from Xinbei City and studying in Xiamen Shuangshi Middle School, said that he hoped to broaden his vision through the reading season. She said, "With the theme of Silk Road culture and family and country feelings, this book gives a detailed description of the 'Haisi' port city Xiamen and other places. The purpose of this activity is to make young people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits read classics together in paper, ink and calligraphy through books, so as to enhance mutual understanding and experience the beauty of Chinese culture. Since the establishment of the cross-strait youth reading season in 2017, more than 30 reading salons and famous scholars' lectures have been held. This activity was guided by the Xiamen Administrative Committee of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the Publicity Department of the Huli District Committee of the Communist Party of China in Xiamen, hosted by Xiamen Waitu Group Co., Ltd., and co sponsored by the Taiwan Chinese Youth Exchange Association and the Bookseller's Cross Strait Magazine.
