On November 1, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other five departments issued the Action Plan for the Integration and Development of Virtual Reality and Industrial Applications (2022-2026) (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan). The Action Plan proposed the development goals by 2026, five key tasks and seven safeguard measures, which attracted extensive attention from the market. "The market has always had high expectations for the virtual reality industry and high investment enthusiasm. However, there are not many specific landing scenarios and business models that can be industrialized. This Action Plan points out the direction of future development, clarifies key tasks, and gives the industry a shot in the arm." Wang Peng, Beijing Academy of Social Sciences, said in an interview with Securities Daily. The Action Plan for Building a Hundred Billion Yuan Industrial Scale pointed out that virtual reality (including augmented reality and hybrid reality) is an important frontier direction of the new generation of information technology, a major forward-looking area of the digital economy, will profoundly change the way of production and life of mankind, and the strategic window for industrial development has been formed. By 2026, the overall scale of China's virtual reality industry (including related hardware, software, applications, etc.) will exceed 350 billion yuan, the sales volume of virtual reality terminals will exceed 25 million units, 100 backbone enterprises with strong innovation ability and industry influence will be cultivated, 10 clusters with regional influence and leading the ecological development of virtual reality will be built, and 10 industrial public service platforms will be built. The Action Plan specifies the key tasks in the future: promoting the integration and innovation of key technologies, improving the supply capacity of the whole industry chain, accelerating the implementation of multi industry and multi scenario applications, and strengthening the construction of industrial public service platforms. Among them, in the process of accelerating the landing of multi industry and multi scene applications, the integration application of virtual reality in different directions is proposed, including but not limited to "virtual reality+industrial production", "virtual reality+cultural tourism", "virtual reality+integrated media", "virtual reality+education and training", etc. Wang Peng said that the Action Plan not only has an important impact on the R&D field, but also on the entire market.
