Li Keqiang Holds Talks with Prime Minister Shabaz of Pakistan

On the afternoon of November 2, Premier Li Keqiang held talks with Prime Minister Shabaz of Pakistan, who was in China for an official visit, in the Great Hall of the People. Li Keqiang expressed that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners of each other, close and friendly neighbors and loyal friends. China is willing to work with Pakistan to promote traditional friendship, expand all-round cooperation, promote the building of a closer China Pakistan community of shared future, benefit the two peoples, and promote regional peace, stability and prosperity. Li Keqiang once again expressed condolences on the major floods in Pakistan this year, and was willing to continue to support Pakistan's post disaster reconstruction, enhance its emergency management capacity, and provide Pakistan with help within its capabilities. Li Keqiang expressed that China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Pakistan and deepen practical cooperation in ports, transportation, energy, industry, people's livelihood and other fields. We will steadily promote the construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor that benefits people's livelihood, and focus on the sustainability of cooperation projects. Take the opportunity of negotiating and signing the Enhanced Work Plan for Safeguarding the Safety of Chinese Personnel, Projects and Institutions in Pakistan to fully guarantee the safety of Chinese personnel, institutions and projects in Pakistan. China is willing to ensure the smooth operation of flights between the two countries and ensure the healthy and orderly exchanges of personnel between the two countries on the premise of doing a good job in epidemic prevention. Shabaz said that Pakistan and China are close brothers, and consolidating and developing friendly relations with China is the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy. Pakistan has always firmly supported China on issues involving China's core interests and major concerns, and sincerely thanks China for its valuable help to Pakistan's economic development and post disaster reconstruction. Pakistan is willing to work with China to actively promote the construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, strengthen cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, clean energy and other fields, and push Pakistan China relations to a new level. Shabaz stressed that Pakistan will not tolerate acts that undermine Pakistan China friendship and will do its utmost to take all measures to ensure the safety of personnel and institutions in Pakistan and China. The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common concern. After the talks, the two prime ministers jointly witnessed the signing of a number of intergovernmental cooperation agreements on trade and investment, e-commerce, digital economy, culture, law enforcement and security.
