Jiangxi Ji'an explores the establishment of a service station for ex servicemen stationed abroad
2022-11-02
"Thanks to the coordination of the mobile ex servicemen service station, the problem that has plagued me for more than a year has been successfully solved!" Hu Jiangming, a ex serviceman from Jishui, Jiangxi Province, who works in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, told reporters by telephone a few days ago. Hu Jiangming works in an enterprise in Shenzhen. Last May, on his way back from the company to the dormitory, he was hit by a motorcycle with a fake license plate. The perpetrator escaped and faced the problem of reimbursement of medical expenses. After many unsuccessful negotiations, Hu Jiangming found the Jishui County Overseas Veterans Service Station. Through the active coordination of the staff, the problem was properly solved. Hu Jiangming's experience is a microcosm of Ji'an City's efforts to broaden its service and security positions and promote the extension of the service and security system for ex servicemen. At present, there are more than 32000 ex servicemen in Ji'an City who are engaged in business or work abroad. In the past, they often faced difficulties in employment and job search, lack of venture capital, disputes over contract performance and other issues. In view of this situation, in order to implement the care of the Party Committee and the government for ex servicemen, Ji'an City actively explores a new mode of service guarantee for mobile ex servicemen. In areas where ex servicemen of Ji'an origin start businesses and migrant workers are concentrated, the Chamber of Commerce stationed abroad plays a role as a bridge and link, and sets up a service station for ex servicemen in the Chamber of Commerce. The person in charge of the service station is appointed by the county (city, district) veterans' affairs bureau, and the staff is recruited from the ex servicemen with high quality and strong management and coordination ability in the chambers of commerce stationed abroad. The service stations for ex servicemen stationed abroad provide comprehensive services such as policy publicity, entrepreneurial guidance, rights and interests protection, and difficult relief, so that ex servicemen who are in different places can have places for activities, channels for appeals, platforms for overcoming difficulties, and support for entrepreneurship. The reporter saw at the service station for ex servicemen in Nanchang of Xingan County that the staff were answering the questions of "military service age recognition", "preferential treatment card application", "honorable card hanging" and other questions that the ex servicemen paid more attention to, and demonstrating the process of handling preferential treatment cards in different places. The patient and meticulous service was highly praised by the new veterans working in Nanchang. Zeng Liang, director of Ji'an Municipal Bureau of Veterans Affairs, told reporters that since 2020, 31 attached service stations for ex servicemen stationed abroad have been set up at all levels in the city, providing service and consultation for ex servicemen who have settled 119 demands.
