Hong Kong New Year's Eve Market will be held in January next year, and there will be no "dry goods stall" under the epidemic
2022-10-26
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 26th that the Hong Kong Lunar New Year market will be held in 15 locations for seven consecutive days from January 16 to 22 next year, with 922 stalls. In response to the COVID-19 epidemic, the "dry goods stalls" will continue to be cancelled. The FEHD said that due to the COVID-19, the 2023 Lunar New Year market in Hong Kong will maintain no "dry goods stalls" and only set up "wet goods stalls" for flower growers to sell their annual flowers. At the same time, fast food stalls are not set up to prevent the entrance from taking off masks to eat, which increases the risk of virus transmission. In addition, all stalls will be open for bidding in batches from November 9 this year. The FEHD pointed out that the SAR Government would implement various anti epidemic measures at the New Year's Eve market. The booth licensees and their staff shall have completed the COVID-19 vaccination, conduct a rapid antigen test at their own expense within 24 hours before the start of the New Year market, and conduct a rapid antigen test at their own expense every 3 days thereafter before entering the site, and keep records of the results of each rapid antigen test for 3 days.
