The 16th General Conference of the International Committee on Global Navigation Systems (ICG) of the United Nations opened in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on the 10th. The conference was hosted by the United Arab Emirates Space Agency. Global and regional satellite navigation system suppliers from China, the United States, Russia, the European Union, Japan and India, ICG member countries such as Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Nigeria, ICG associate members and observers such as the International Geodetic Association and the International GNSS Service Organization, as well as special observers such as South Korea, Pakistan and the International Maritime Radio Technical Commission, will discuss system compatibility and interoperability, space service domain High precision applications and other hot topics in the world satellite navigation field were exchanged and consulted in depth. The Chinese delegation will organize domestic experts to participate in online discussions on all topics of the conference, focusing on the latest progress of the Beidou system in construction, operation, application and promotion, international cooperation, etc. since the last conference, and will also make independent or joint reports on important topics such as monitoring and assessment, low orbit PNT (positioning, navigation and time service), space debris disposal, space weather, Earth Moon navigation, etc, We also put forward Chinese proposals and solutions on major space weather events, disposal of decommissioned satellites, compatibility of LEO satellites with existing GNSS systems and other issues, and actively contribute Chinese wisdom to the development of global satellite navigation. The conference will close on the 14th. During this period, Chinese experts will also conduct in-depth exchanges and extensive discussions with relevant countries and international organizations on system compatibility and interoperability, Beidou's international application and other related issues, further consolidate and improve existing cooperation mechanisms, and promote the shaping of a new pattern of Beidou's international development in the new stage. It is reported that the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system has been operating steadily for more than two years since it was launched. Its performance has improved steadily, and the industry has developed rapidly, serving hundreds of millions of people. As China's major strategic spatio-temporal information infrastructure, Beidou will be compatible with other satellite navigation systems for common development and work together to serve global users.
