The harvest of autumn grain is approaching the peak, and the trend of increasing production in many main production areas is obvious

2022-10-12

At present, the harvest of autumn grain across the country is at its peak. According to the agricultural situation scheduling, the harvest of autumn grain in China has reached nearly 60%. The main production areas in the Northeast, the Yellow River, Huaihe River and the Sea, and the Northwest are generally growing well. The unit yields of corn, rice, and soybeans have increased to varying degrees, and the autumn grain is expected to harvest again. "This year is a good year with enough accumulated temperature. It is a bumper harvest year. The soybean yield per mu is about 500 jin, an increase of 50 to 60 jin compared with last year, and the corn yield per mu is about 2000 jin." Lin Haifei, a villager of Yongjin Village, Jiaxinzi Town, Baoqing County, Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province, said that they have started to harvest in autumn since the end of September. At present, they have completed the harvest of more than 500 mu of corn and more than 1100 mu of soybeans planted by the cooperatives. Zhang Qiang, deputy director of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Baoqing County, told reporters that this year, the county's crop planting area is 2.8982 million mu, and the annual output is expected to exceed 2.1 billion kg. It is expected to complete the harvest of most crops by the end of October. In Henan, on October 7, Shi Guochen, a grain farmer in Gezhuang Village, Caiyuan Town, Anyang City, was directing a large harvester to harvest corn. Across the country, 56.4% of the autumn grain has been harvested, 3 percentage points faster than the same period last year. As the main production areas enter the centralized harvest period, large-scale harvesting has been carried out in an all-round way. Autumn grain is the "big head" of grain production throughout the year, mainly including medium and late indica rice, japonica rice, corn, soybeans, etc., accounting for about three quarters of the annual grain output. According to the agricultural situation, most of the main autumn grain producing areas, especially in the north, are growing well this year, and there is an obvious trend of increasing the yield of autumn grain in several main areas. "This year is another bumper year, and we are sure to achieve the goal of more than 1.3 trillion kg," said Zeng Yande, chief agronomist and director of the Department of Development and Planning of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. But behind this heavy harvest answer, this year's grain production has gone through multiple tests, and the achievements are hard won: to overcome the impact of extreme weather such as the rare autumn rain and autumn flood last year, and the severe high temperature and drought in the Yangtze River basin this summer, we must also deal with the risk challenges such as the new pneumonia epidemic and the fluctuation of international commodity prices. A good harvest is inseparable from a series of food production support policies. In the critical period of autumn grain production, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs sent 25 provincial contact groups and 12 science and technology teams to key provinces of autumn grain and key areas affected by high temperature and drought to carry out technical guidance, printed and distributed several technical opinions such as southern rice's resistance to high temperature and heat damage, and provided precise guidance services based on disasters, local conditions and crops. At the end of August this year, the central government allocated 10 billion yuan to subsidize the actual grain farmers once again to mitigate the impact of the rising prices of agricultural materials. So far, the central government has allocated 40 billion yuan of subsidies in 2022. In addition, large-scale construction of high standard farmland, vigorously promoting the mechanization of grain production in the whole process, and promoting the appropriate scale operation of grain... A series of measures have a long-term perspective to consolidate and improve grain production capacity. The data shows that the comprehensive mechanization rate of wheat, corn and rice cultivation and harvest in China has exceeded 97%, 90% and 8% respectively
