Up to now, the census and registration of more than ten million leaves of precious ancient books and documents have been completed. According to Qu Zhen, director of the Cultural Relics Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region, up to now, Tibet has completed the overall plan for the protection and utilization of the Potala Palace's ancient books and documents (the palm leaf scripture) (2019-2028), completed the filing and registration of more than 49000 volumes of ancient books and documents in the warehouse, more than 1230 million leaves in the hall, and 4739 letters of ancient books and documents in the hall, and completed the disease investigation and report of the Yongle version of Ganjul and other ancient books and documents. It is also understood that the Potala Palace Management Office has also established the "Potala Palace Ancient Books and Documents (Bayesian scriptures) Protection and Research Center", and cooperated with the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage to continuously implement the rescue restoration, preventive protection and digital archiving of Potala Palace ancient books and documents (Bayesian scriptures). At present, the project has completed the leaf scanning of 41 letter 3152 leaf shells and the investigation of leaf diseases of 465 letter 29380 leaf shells. The Potala Palace has numerous ancient books and records. According to incomplete statistics, the Potala Palace currently has tens of thousands of rare ancient books and documents in Han, Tibetan, Manchu, Mongolian, Sanskrit and other languages.
