Focusing on basic medical research to improve original innovation ability
2022-10-08
After the rampant spread of the epidemic, the demand and voice of the whole society for medical progress are also growing. In the face of the strategic goal of a healthy China, to more fully meet the growing health needs of the people, Chinese medicine needs to provide stronger protection and support. Basic medical research is one of the decisive factors to continuously promote the innovation of medical science and technology and the development of clinical diagnosis and treatment technology. In recent years, under the guidance of the national science and technology policy, the number and quality of medical research achievements in China have increased significantly, but there are still few innovative research achievements and clinical applications with high-quality achievements. Therefore, in the new development stage of the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan", improving the output of original basic research is still an important goal of China's medical development. In the face of clinical scientific problems, carry out basic clinical research, and promote the overall and coordinated development of translational medicine in China. The development and progress of medicine are basically synchronized with the national scientific and technological level. At present, China's medicine also faces many "neck problems". For example, in the well-known medical device and drug production market, imported products are still in an overwhelming position. To solve these bottlenecks, we need to start with basic medical research and lay a solid foundation for medical science. In the face of many medical problems waiting to be solved, we should start from the actual needs of the people's health, that is, we should carry out targeted clinical basic research with many practical scientific problems facing the clinic as the goal. Transformational medicine is an innovative thinking mode that connects clinical treatment and basic medical research. It emphasizes the two-way transformation of "from clinical to laboratory" and "from laboratory to clinical". It also means that problems found in clinical work can be solved using basic research methods, and basic research achievements can be quickly applied to clinical work, so as to effectively achieve the organic integration of basic research and clinical work, It is an innovative model that is in line with the urgent need to quickly break through a number of clinical bottlenecks in China. At present, the research of translational medicine has received extensive attention from medical staff and researchers, and translational medicine centers have sprung up. The construction of the National Clinical Medical Research Center was started in 2012, with 50 completed by the end of 2019. After a period of development, China's translational medicine facilities have entered the application stage, which is about to usher in the transformation from quantity to quality. However, there are still many deficiencies in domestic translational medicine research, such as the lack of communication and collaboration in interdisciplinary and inter institutional research, the lack of a resource sharing mechanism for professional knowledge, facilities and talents, and the urgent need for a large number of clinical and translational medicine research centers to integrate research resources, determine the main development direction, reduce duplication of investment, and improve research efficiency. For the current phenomenon that domestic translational medicine centers are fighting independently, we can build a research platform with the national major scientific and technological infrastructure of translational medicine as the core, and establish a national translational medicine research coordination platform to help coordinate the transformation research infrastructure, professionals, research direction and clinical trials, and provide guidance for the whole process of translational medicine research. To optimize the structure of medical talent team, improve the quality of talent training, and cultivate high-level compound medical talents, the progress and development of medicine most need innovative talents and teams, and only with both can we achieve innovation
