During the National Day holiday in 2022, Zhongshan Library of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou Library, etc. planned a series of wonderful reading activities, launched exhibitions and good book recommendation activities through online and offline platforms, launched a scroll of the times throughout the ancient and modern times for readers, told magnificent Chinese stories, and guided the public to celebrate the National Day in the process of "enjoyable reading". The exhibition of good books depicts a picture of the times during the National Day holiday. The exhibition "My Mother's Name Is China" was held in the exhibition hall on the second floor of the Children's Department of Zhongshan Library in Guangdong Province, attracting many readers to stop and watch the exhibition. At the exhibition site, paintings of freehand brushwork and realism slowly unfolded, presenting the beauty of the motherland's mountains and rivers and the broad and profound Chinese civilization. The exhibition uses Yu Dawu, a famous Chinese painter and the first generation of Chinese picture book writer, as the blueprint, to describe the origin and inheritance of Chinese civilization with traditional Chinese aesthetics, guide children to experience the bright culture and colorful life of the Chinese nation, and fully understand the spirit, wisdom and mind contained therein. The exhibition also has theme recommended books for readers to borrow, including Chinese history, geography, humanities, folk customs, art, etc., such as "Here is China" and "Beautiful China: Starting from Home" series of picture books, encouraging children to learn more about geography and humanities from books and explore the creative stories behind the author. In the provincial Zhongshan Library, readers can also enjoy the wonderful exhibitions such as the photo exhibition of "A Hundred Photographers Focus on the New Era", the 2021 Readers' Favorite 100 Chinese Books Exhibition, and the "17th Wenjin Book Award" Book Exhibition, and spend their holidays in the humanities and art works. In addition, the library also organized rich and colorful online activities such as the 11th Guangdong English Film Dubbing Competition, the "STEAM Reading Experience - Guangzhou 'Traces' Memories" series of activities, and the "Art and Life a Good Class" series of live classes for celebrities, so that readers can enjoy the glorious history and culture of the motherland without leaving home. Before and after the National Day, the Guangzhou Library prepared 39 colorful cultural activities for its readers, including exhibitions, lectures and knowledge contests, "My Chinese Story - Guangdong Second Youth and Children's Art Works Exhibition", "Reading Red Classics, Cultivating Cultural Confidence", "Guangzhou Primary School Students' Red Classics Theme Reading Activity Excellent Works Exhibition", "Dawn under the Pen Tip" - Selected Progressive Newspapers and Periodicals before and after the founding of the Communist Party of China "and other exhibitions were launched to enrich readers' holiday life. In the large exhibition hall on the first floor of the Guangzhou Library, "My Chinese Story - The Second Guangdong Youth and Children's Art Exhibition" exhibited youth and children's art works in three aspects: "Chinese story picture books", "Chinese story accounts" and "Chinese story illustrations". Through various colorful picture books, accounts and illustration works, they spread the Chinese voice, portrayed Chinese stories, and transmitted China's positive energy. Chen Sihang, the person in charge of Canton Pictures, said that more than 10000 children's paintings were received this year, and 270 outstanding works were finally selected for exhibition. Most of the works collected this year were created by children in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. They painted the food, architecture, drama, landscape, clothing, intangible cultural heritage, folk customs and other traditional cultures in Lingnan.
