2022-09-27
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the 26th, the current situation of live pig production and supply continues to improve. The number of fertile sows on hand is at a normal level, and the number of live pigs on hand has increased for five consecutive months. The number of large pigs on hand and the number of newborn piglets in large-scale pig farms are higher than the level of the same period last year. In the later stage, there are enough fat pigs on the market and the market supply is guaranteed. On the 26th, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a departmental coordination meeting in Beijing to study and deploy the work of ensuring stable pig production and supply in the four seasons. The meeting proposed to strengthen the research and judgment of pig production situation and take effective measures to ensure the stable supply of pork in the fourth quarter, especially during major holidays. The meeting required that all relevant departments around the country should strengthen their responsibilities and do a solid job in ensuring stable pig production and supply. Strengthen the situation analysis, research and judgment and information warning, focus on the key indicators such as breeding sows and live pigs, increase the frequency of information release, and effectively guide production. Precisely carry out comprehensive regulation and control, and implement coordinated policies from multiple links such as production, market and import. The meeting stressed that we should further implement long-term support policies such as aquaculture land, environmental protection and loans, and stabilize aquaculture expectations. We will not relax in the prevention and control of swine fever in Africa, implement various comprehensive prevention and control measures, and ensure that the epidemic situation is stable and does not rebound.
