In the afternoon of September 19, Qin'ao (UnionPay) Dawan District Smart Parking Project and Hengqin Mobile Payment Demonstration Town's "Colorful Autumn Love to Buy Hengqin" Consumption Festival was launched in Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "Cooperation Zone"). This smart parking project is the first innovative application of overseas vehicles in China to make senseless payment. After the project is launched, Macao owners only need to bind their vehicle information with their overseas UnionPay cards, and automatically deduct money when leaving the parking lot through license plate recognition. The first batch of online parking lots includes 12 large underground parking lots, such as the large commercial complex in the cooperation zone, Chimelong Paradise and hotels, Hengqin Port, which are frequently visited by Macao residents. It is reported that this smart parking project is an innovative application of mobile payment in the cross-border transportation field launched by Zhuhai Central Sub branch UnionPay International Co., Ltd. under the guidance of Guangzhou Branch of the People's Bank of China. Chen Yuhai, Vice President of Guangzhou Branch of the People's Bank of China, said that the project is not only an innovative application of mobile payment in cross-border "smart transportation", but also an important achievement in expanding new living space for Macao residents. Before the project was launched, Macao residents paid in parking lots in mainland cities of Dawan District mainly by cash, swiping cards or scanning codes, which was relatively low in convenience. Since August 22 this year, the cooperation zone has fully liberalized the quota for the entry and exit of non operating passenger cars in Macao. At present, the number of entry-exit vehicles passing through Hengqin Port every day has reached 3800, and the number of single brand vehicles accounts for 70%. There is a huge demand for convenient and safe parking payment services in the cooperation zone.
