Guanlei Port resumed freight business, Lancang Mekong River international shipping resumed

2022-09-19

On September 17, Zijing 8, a Chinese ship full of export goods, left Guanlei Port Terminal in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The Guanlei Port, which has been closed for more than two years, officially resumed its freight business, which means that the Lancang Mekong River international shipping has resumed. Guanlei Port is located at the bank of Lancang River in the southwest of Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with an annual average of 60000 inbound and outbound passengers, 6000 inbound and outbound ships, and about 270000 tons of imported and exported goods. Affected by the epidemic, the passenger and cargo transport at Guanlei Port will be completely closed from April 1, 2020. After the recovery of cargo, in order to ensure the smooth customs clearance of cargo business, Jinghong Port Exit Entry Border Inspection Station, relying on the advantages of high-definition eagle eye monitoring system, adopts a combination of remote video monitoring and on-site boarding inspection to strengthen the monitoring and inspection of entry-exit ships and crew members during their stay in the port, so as to minimize unnecessary personnel contact.
