The top of Yunling Mountain guards happiness
2022-09-15
On the day when the good news of the upcoming Twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China came, the officers and soldiers of a squadron of the second mobile detachment of the Yunnan Armed Police Corps were carrying out a regular mobile duty preparation task. During the interval of the mission, the squadron leader Pan Wuxing read out this exciting news. Everyone expressed that they should guard the land under their feet with youth and blood, and welcome the victory of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with practical actions and outstanding achievements. A squadron of the second mobile detachment of the Yunnan Armed Police Corps is stationed in Bengba Village, Dongwang Township, Shangri la, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The mountains here are rich in Chinese herbal medicine. Every May and June, local villagers will go to the mountains to dig herbs. In order to maintain the order of mining and excavation and protect the safety of villagers, the officers and soldiers of the squadron overcame difficulties such as high cold and hypoxia, headache and chest tightness, extended the patrol line to the top of the Yunling Mountain at an altitude of 5000 meters, and protected the lives and property of the people. The lack of oxygen does not lack morale, and the higher the altitude, the higher the morale. At the top of the Yunling Mountain, the officers and soldiers of the squadron take pains for pleasure and offer silently. The youth blooms in the daily persistence. Carve a small stone in the magnificent rivers and mountains of the motherland and stand diagonally beside the post. The stone is engraved with red words: "At an altitude of 4530 meters, you can win the battle." Looking to the east from the post, across the deep valley, there are continuous mountains in the distance. When the sun rises slowly, the snow on the top of the mountain is like billowing spray illuminated by the red sun. Next to the stone, Staff Sergeant Li Xin stood with his comrades in arms. Li Xin is careless. Under his thick black eyebrows, his eyes shine. Another patrol. At 8 o'clock in the morning, they carried dry food on their backs, put on heavy bulletproof clothing and helmets, and set out towards the top of the mountain at a higher altitude. Walking up the snow mountain, the oxygen became thinner and thinner. The north wind kept pouring into the neck, challenging the little heat on the body, and the officers and soldiers became breathless. The mountain peaks are covered with snow all the year round. The squadron leader Pan Wuxing remembered that it had snowed heavily for seven days two years ago, and the snow was 50cm thick. Finally, the highest ridge line was reached, and officers and soldiers began to patrol along the ridge line on foot. The sky suddenly began to rain, and everyone wrapped up their coats. "The weather here varies greatly, sometimes it rains, sometimes it hails, and there is heavy fog. No matter what happens, our patrols cannot stop." Li Xin said. Seeing armed police officers and soldiers, villagers digging herbs on the mountain often give them thumbs up. Whenever Li Xin saw this gesture, he felt very satisfied. "Even if the environment is tough, it is worth it.". At noon, the officers and soldiers welcomed the lunch on the patrol road - individual self heating food. Pour the water into the heating bag, fold the bag mouth and lay it flat. After 15 minutes, the fragrance will come. "It's like charging your mobile phone. After eating and drinking some hot water, I feel like I have electricity again." Soldier Zhang Bingbing said. During the meal break, the squadron often organizes a story meeting. Once shared, Li Xin told the story of Xia Minghan, the revolutionary pioneer. Xia Minghan was faithful and unyielding in prison, and wrote the heroic oath of "adhering to the revolution, following my ambition, and vowing to spread the truth to the world". "In times of peace, there are fewer life and death tests, but tests are everywhere. Only by casting the soul of ideals and beliefs can we withstand all kinds of tests."
