The 20th Beijing International Book Festival with the theme of "reading for all" opened in the exhibition area of Shougang Park of China Service Trade Fair on September 1. Guided by the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal People's government, and sponsored by the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party committee, this year's Book Festival focuses on creating an "Online + offline" experience form. In the main venue, there are an exhibition area for themed publications "welcoming the 20th National Congress of the party", a reading area for the whole people, a traditional culture exhibition area, "the capital of books", a children's light and shadow reading area, and a special area for "celebrity lecture hall". At the activity site, Qiu Huadong, a famous writer and Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association, appeared in the "famous lecture hall" to tell readers the story of Beijing's "people and city". During the book festival, a number of cultural celebrities will appear in new book launches, special lectures and other activities to communicate with readers face-to-face. It is reported that this book festival will last for five days. More than 100 physical bookstores in Beijing will hold preferential book purchasing activities simultaneously, focusing on exhibition and sales of excellent publications. (Li Xinshe)
