Recently, the author visited several rural nursing homes and found that the environment and conditions of individual nursing homes were poor. It is understood that these rural nursing homes are welcomed by the rural elderly and their families because of their low fees, proximity to home, and familiar personnel. However, these nursing homes often have limited funds. Not only are there a shortage of nursing staff, but also most of them are surrounding farmers, who are generally older, less educated and lack professional skills. The living and nursing facilities in the nursing home are also simple. Most of the beds, tables and chairs and other furniture are old items purchased or picked up from the countryside. In addition, these nursing homes do not have sound and perfect rules and regulations. It is suggested that relevant departments should strengthen the supervision and management of rural old-age homes, take measures to improve the conditions of running the homes, improve the service level, and let the elderly live in a healthy and safe place.
