Kuwait announces to increase daily oil production to 2.811 million barrels
2022-08-25
Mohammed Faris, Deputy Prime Minister and oil minister of Kuwait, announced on the 24th that Kuwait will increase its daily oil production to 2.811 million barrels to ensure safe and stable oil supply and meet the demand of the world oil market. Kuwait's official news agency quoted Faris's statement on the same day to report that the increase in production was based on the decision made by the organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non OPEC oil producing countries to meet the market demand while fulfilling Kuwait's previous commitment to provide sufficient supply for the international oil market. Faris said in the statement that Kuwait supports all efforts aimed at maintaining the stability of the oil market. He also said that due to years of insufficient investment, there are structural weaknesses in the global oil production sector. OPEC and non OPEC oil producing countries held the 31st ministerial meeting by video on March 3, and decided to increase production slightly in September this year and increase the monthly output by 100000 barrels per day.
