Wang Yi, State Councilor and foreign minister, presided over the meeting of coordinators for the implementation of the outcomes of the eighth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China Africa cooperation by video in Beijing on November 18. Foreign minister ISATA of Senegal, the African co chair of the forum, as well as African chairpersons of the previous China Africa Cooperation Forum, representatives of African subregions, representatives of the African Union Commission, and African envoys to China attended the meeting. Over the past half a year, China and Africa have maintained their determination, sincere unity and focused on cooperation. The implementation of the outcomes of the conference has made good progress, bringing tangible benefits to the African people. Standing at a new historical starting point, China and Africa should unite more closely and truly build a community with a shared future for China and Africa in the new era. Wang Yi put forward five suggestions: first, adhere to truth, affinity and sincerity, and strengthen unity and mutual assistance. Second, adhere to the down-to-earth principle and strive for common development. Third, adhere to independence and promote regional peace. Fourth, we should uphold inheritance and friendship and promote people to people exchanges. Fifth, adhere to openness and win-win results, and promote the healthy development of international cooperation with Africa. African representatives spoke highly of China's efforts to implement the outcomes of the eighth ministerial meeting of the forum.
