From "black" to "green": ecological "butterfly change" of China's old industrial base
2022-08-09
As an old industrial base in China, Liaoning has been seriously polluted in history. "Black" is a label that this heavy industrial province has been unable to shake off for many years. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Liaoning has taken the courage of breaking one's wrists to fight against environmental pollution, and the ecological environment has been continuously improved. "Green" has become the new background color of Liaoning, and has injected more vitality into the comprehensive and all-round revitalization of Liaoning. The rivers are surging and the grass is everywhere. In this midsummer, the vast land is a beautiful scenery. The green reed red beach white crane dances in Panjin, Liaoning Province. At the mouth of the Liaohe River, more than 7000 mu of reed marshes are surging green waves. Under the scorching sun, Zhao Shiwei, 50, pulled out the reed leaves that had grown to the roadside and inspected the Little Red Crowned Crane in the crane shed along the brown wooden plank road. "Don't be afraid if you don't rob your children..." Zhao Shiwei chatted with the red crowned cranes as he walked. Seeing Zhao Shiwei, Chenghe fluttered down his wings and calmed down slowly. Zhao Shiwei has worked in this reed marsh for 31 years. In that year, he graduated from university and was assigned to work in zhaohuanhe management station of liaohekou National Nature Reserve. The coastal wetland in Panjin is an important resting place, wintering place and breeding place in the migration channel of birds from East Asia to Australia. Since the 1980s and 1990s, due to the destruction of the ecological environment, the population of red crowned cranes migrating through the Liaohe River Estuary has been declining. Red Crowned Crane is a national first-class protected animal listed in the red list of endangered species of the World Conservation Union. In the past ten years, Panjin has strengthened environmental protection, gradually restored nearly 80000 mu of reclaimed aquaculture beaches to natural coastal wetlands, formulated relevant documents, and continuously increased policy support to guide and support the original mariculture industry to open aquaculture. Now, the ecology of the local coastal waters has been continuously restored, and the unique red Suaeda salsa grass has reappeared in large areas in the offshore beaches, and has become a home for red crowned cranes to freely inhabit and forage. Artificial breeding is also an important means of protecting red crowned cranes. When Zhao Shiwei first worked, due to immature technology, the management station could only artificially breed a few red crowned cranes each year, and sometimes none could be bred. Zhao Shiwei said that the "artificial + natural" breeding mode is now adopted, which has constantly increased the number of red crowned cranes. "There are 204 red crowned cranes that we have rescued, bred and released together.". These flying white cranes are just a microcosm of the continuous improvement of the ecology in the coastal waters of Liaoning. By the end of 2021, the excellent water quality in the coastal waters of Liaoning Province has reached 91%, and 1858 square kilometers of inferior class IV seawater has been reduced. The inferior class IV seawater has been basically eliminated in the coastal waters of major cities. Blue water and blue sky into the picture against the high temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, 32 year old Chen Yu accompanied his friends to visit the Imperial Palace in Shenyang. While taking photos with his friends with this imperial palace of the Qing Dynasty with a history of nearly 400 years, he took out his mobile phone to photograph the blue sky and white clouds above his head and sent a wechat circle of friends. "Around 2015, the air pollution in Shenyang was very serious, so I bought several air purifiers at home." Chen Yu said, "now there are more and more good weather, so you don't need to open the filter to take photos." In recent years, a total of 4383 coal-fired boilers of 20 tons and below have been eliminated in Shenyang
