Iranian foreign minister abdullahiyan and EU high representative for foreign and security policy Borrell announced in Tehran, the Iranian capital, on the 25th that the negotiations between the parties involved in the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue will be restarted in a few days. Abdullahiyan held a meeting with the visiting Borrelli on the same day. At the subsequent joint press conference, abdullahiyan said that the two sides had detailed and in-depth talks on restarting the Iranian nuclear negotiations and were ready to break the impasse in the negotiations. It is hoped that the US side will adopt a "realistic and fair approach" and act responsibly in this negotiation. He said that for Iran, it is important to "fully obtain all the economic benefits stipulated in the Iranian nuclear agreement". Borrelli said that the Iranian nuclear talks are expected to resume and break the deadlock within a few days. The negotiations have been put on hold for three months. All parties need to speed up their work and quickly restart the negotiations to "resolve the final outstanding issues". In july2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany. According to the agreement, Iran promised to limit its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran. In may2018, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the agreement, then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iraq. Since May, 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some provisions of the agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible". In April, 2021, the relevant parties to the Iranian nuclear agreement began to hold negotiations in Vienna, the capital of Austria, to discuss the resumption of performance by the United States and Iran. The United States indirectly participated in the negotiations. The eighth round of negotiations was launched in Vienna on December 27, 2021. On March 11 this year, Borrelli announced that the negotiations were suspended due to "external factors". (Xinhua News Agency)
