2022-06-24
In response to reports that Nepal's cabinet meeting recently decided to stop promoting cooperation with the United States in the "State Partnership Program", foreign ministry spokesman wangwenbin said in a question and answer at a regular press conference on June 23 that China appreciates the decision of the Nepalese government and will continue to support Nepal in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in upholding its independent and non aligned foreign policy. Wangwenbin said that the recent nimei "State Partnership Plan" has caused widespread controversy in Nepal. All parties and factions, government forces and all walks of life in Nigeria generally believe that the "State Partnership Plan" is obviously of a military security nature and has close relations with the "Indo Pacific strategy". Joining the "State Partnership Plan" is not in line with Nigeria's national interests and the long-term non aligned and balanced foreign policy pursued by Nigeria. The cabinet meeting of Nepal has decided not to promote the "State Partnership Plan". "As a friendly close neighbor and strategic cooperative partner of Nepal, China appreciates the decision of the Nepalese government." Wangwenbin said that the Chinese side will, as always, support Nigeria in safeguarding its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, support Nigeria in adhering to its independent and non aligned foreign policy, and is willing to work with Nigeria to jointly safeguard regional security, stability and common prosperity.
