It is understood that the development of the medical laboratory industry in Guangzhou started early and has a good foundation. Many indicators such as technology R & D capacity and the number of operating enterprises rank among the top in the country, and a number of leading enterprises have emerged. Relying on innovative carriers such as Guangzhou International Biological Island, Guangzhou Science City and Zhongxin (Guangzhou) knowledge city, as well as rich high-quality medical and health resources, an industrial cluster dominated by medical testing services has been formed, which gathers upstream and downstream related market players such as in vitro diagnostic reagent equipment R & D and manufacturing, pathological diagnosis, physical therapy, data services and cold chain services. In 2021, the scale of the city's medical laboratory industry was nearly 50 billion yuan.
